About the Role:

Allianz Australia is making significant investment in their risk & compliance capabilities and capacity.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a progressive first line risk and compliance function in our Retail & Distribution Division. The team's purpose is to safeguard and strengthen the position of the RDD business so as to preserve customer and enterprise value and performance. Reporting to the National Risk & Compliance Manager, the Manager is responsible for assisting in leading the implementation and execution of the risk management framework. This role will lead the development of the assurance and reporting framework across RDD.

Key Role Objectives:

  • Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders and increase awareness of risk management and compliance obligations.
  • Develop guidance/processes to embed leading incident and issue management practices.
  • Develop the assurance and the reporting framework that is fit for purpose.
  • Lead targeted risk assurance/deep dive activities.
  • Provide insights through thematic using risk, incident and issue data.
  • Monitor and report on key risk indicators and internal control performance to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Support the development/cross skilling of more junior team members.
  • Work across the wider team to establish and cascade guidance and education across RDD.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of governance and risk management disciplines including uplifting the risk culture.
  • Communicate relevant risk management information to increase awareness of risk management practices.

To be considered for this role you should possess:

The successful applicant will be an inquisitive and results driven individual and possess the following experience and skills:

  • At least 4-7 years' experience in risk management / compliance / internal or external audit in the Insurance/Financial Industry
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related degree
  • Have experience with developing risk reporting frameworks, dashboards and controls testing program.
  • Creativity and adaptability demonstrating the ability to approach a problem from numerous perspectives
  • A strong understanding of the risk management principles and processes
  • The ability to manage the quality delivery of risk management outcomes aligned to the organisation's risk appetite
  • An understanding of the laws, legislation, regulations and prudential standards impacting insurance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
