Manager, cPMO

Allianz Australia has an exciting opportunity available for a PMO Manager with strong exposure to Enterprise PMOs, to sit with within our Centralised PMO (CPMO) based in our Market Street, Sydney CBD location. You will be engaged on an initial 12 month FT contract which will look to extend out to 16 – 18 months.

Role overview:

As part of the enterprise PMO, you will provide support for the ongoing success of a governance & delivery framework designed to enable the alignment of programs/projects to Strategic Goals and Objectives, and the delivery of the outcomes outlined in the strategy.

With a significant uplift in investment to deliver to the strategy and maintain our social licence over the next 3-5 years, we will be modifying our governance framework to support the increased scale and complexity of the project portfolio.   

As Manager, cPMO your key tasks will include but not be limited to;

  • Continuously drive the alignment of programs/projects to Strategic Goals and Objective
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of a pipeline of work and roadmap, identifying areas of dependency and potential synergies across programs.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of a governance and delivery model that enables the effective management of projects/initiatives, risk and issue identification and mitigation in the most appropriate forum.  Additionally enabling standard processes and project management methodologies and tools to be utilised across the organisation, ensuring best practice and consistency enterprise wide.
  • Develop, monitor and report on portfolio level risks and issues, dependencies and resource contention/prioritisation including the impact of delivery of project outcomes.
  • Provide support/advice to Program PMOs and Project Managers as required.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the QA program assessing individual project and program level health and ensuring governance model adherence. This may include training/coaching as appropriate.
  • Produce consolidated reports and dashboards for review and action in the appropriate forum. This includes reporting at SMT, Local board and other internal reporting, as well as reporting to Group as required.
  • Co-ordination between program offices. Ensure appropriate level of communication to each stakeholder group.

The ideal candidate will possess the below skills, attributes and experience;

  • 4 + years' experience in PMO Management, ideally with an additional 3 + years' working within complex delivery environments
  • Extensive exposure to centralised or enterprise wide PMOs
  • Experience working within complex and large scale environments, ideally with experience to the Financial Services sector
  • Impeccable stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholder groups on across both IT and the Business  
  • A mentality focused on driving best practice, raising maturity and aligning to Strategic and Global objectives
  • Ability to facilitate presentations and workshops as required for Senior Stakeholders enterprise wide
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery and ways of working in addition to more traditional methods will be highly desirable
