An important and high profile 6 month contract role has arisen for a Senior Specialist, Governance & Policy in our newly created Governance & Conduct team. This is an opportunity to join a high performing team at a very exciting and influential time in the companies growth. The role is located at our Market Street, Sydney CBD office.

The role of Senior Specialist is to provide specialist advice on the design, implementation and assessment of the governance frameworks at Allianz, to ensure alignment between strategy, policies, frameworks, forums and processes to support good governance, effective decision making and a healthy culture. In this role you'll also prepare and coordinate the Conduct, Culture and Reputation Committee papers as well as support the efficient and effective operation of the Management Committees.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Implementation of accountability frameworks, i.e. BEAR/FEAR
  • Governance reporting
  • Board, committee and CEO reporting. Including the co-ordination of the Conduct, Culture and Reputation Committee papers.
  • Support the implementation of a policy framework with a view to simplify and improve effectiveness
  • Implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Register of Delegations of Authority
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Boards' Matters Referred and Powers Delegated (MRPD), and MD Delegations
  • Provide advice and recommend on the review of Committees with the lens of start, stop, continue and provide recommendations to improve effectiveness and accountability.
  • Document and maintain Committee Charters to support the Chair and Members of those Committees
  • Support the delivery of the culture strategy, frameworks and initiatives

 To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, law or similar
  • At least 7 years' experience in the insurance industry
  • A strong background in collating, analysing and writing information
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills inc strong communication and the confidence and ability to engage and influence senior executives and stakeholders across the business   
  • Resilience to work in a fast moving, dynamic environment

Prior experience working with regulators and/or government entities as well as experience with performance frameworks, culture and change programs is highly desirable but not a necessity.
