Property Underwriter - High Risk Solutions

We currently have an opening for a High Risk Solutions Property Underwriter to underwrite in accordance with Higher Risk Property for Broker & Agency in accordance with Company Underwriting Guidelines and within delegated authority levels to achieve and exceed budgeted targets for GWP,

What you should expect:

This role will suit a candidate who has had exposure to lines of business underwriting, has excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills and is looking to progress their career with a leading global insurer.

Reporting to the Senior Underwriter - Property, you will ensures that new business renewal processes are managed according to agreed service standards

It will be your responsibility to:

  • Effectively manage workflows (New Business, First Year Policy Maintenance, and Exception Renewals and Endorsements etc) to ensure delivery of quality service standards.
  • Take responsibility for nominated broker / branch panel and also provide back-up support to the broader team where required.
  • Apply our technical expertise to individual risks to ensure they meet Allianz's high underwriting and risk management standards.
  • Strict adherence to Allianz Survey criteria and ensuring systemised process of ensuring Risk Improvement requirements are followed up and implemented.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within Branch and other Allianz divisions, such as Claims, ARCA and Technical.
  • Adhere to all company risk and compliance operational procedures.

Important to your success

  • You will ideally have around 5 years or more experience in a similar role with Tailored Lines of Business underwriting experience.
  • A wide exposure to Commercial and Corporate risks
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability both build relationships and influence at all levels
  • A strategic thinker with an analytical mindset and the ability to problem solve
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
