Due to a recent vacancy within our legal team we are seeking an engaging and driven lawyer to join our in house legal team based in our Sydney CBD offices.  The role is responsible for the provision of high quality legal services to Allianz Australia's Technical and Distribution Divisions and related ancillary areas. 

The Regulatory team provides legal advice and support to the Allianz business across a range of matters, including:

  • Regulatory change
  • Product design and development
  • Regulatory relationships
  • Industry bodies and Codes of Practice
  • Statutory notices and regulatory investigations
  • Regulatory enforcement
  • Remediation and rectification
  • Data and privacy

Reporting to the Executive Legal Counsel, Regulatory, the role requires close involvement with management at all levels of a number of key Allianz business units.

As a key member of the Regulatory Legal Team, this person is responsible for providing legal services within Australia in relation to areas which fall within the Team's responsibility.

About You

The successful applicant will have ambition, energy, and a willingness to learn. Experience in financial services and/or general have demonstrated experience as a high achiever in a similar role.  Ideally you will have experience within insurance or financial services. 

You will possess the following skills:

  • 3+ years post qualification experience
  • Demonstrated experience within in-house and/or senior associate level or above in a large law firm (or both).
  • Conscientious with a strong attention to detail on all matters
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • The ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a team
  • Effective organisation skills and incisive commercial judgement
