Our Broker & Agency Distribution division works with a large network of brokers nationally. We deliver consistent, sustainable insurance risk and premium funding solutions for our broker partners and their clients.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced ‎ Underwriter to join our high performing team as an Underwriter - Motor. In this role you will be responsible for the effective underwriting of target accounts, and assisting in the development and refinement of a Fleet offering in accordance with divisional business plan and strategies.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining professional business relationships with key internal & external stakeholders
  • Using appropriate interpersonal styles, communication styles to work effectively with internal & external customers to meet mutual goals and objectives
  • Ensuring that all underwriting is performed in accordance with underwriting frameworks
  • Providing reports on portfolio renewal retention, new business strike rates and provide analysis fortnightly and monthly
  • Ensuring all premiums are processed and paid within Credit Terms and take remedial action where necessary
  • Identifying opportunities for improved work practices

Suitable candidates will ideally possess the following skills and attributes:‎

  • Previous experience of general insurance underwriting or product management experience - preferably in Motor classes
  • Working knowledge & application of all relevant Insurance Acts and Codes
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Strong customer relationship building and management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of Claims processes and procedures whilst desirable, not essential
  • ANZIIF Qualifications‎
