Reporting directly to the Chief Market  Manager, Market Management , this key leadership role provides an exciting opportunity to bring your thought leadership,  industry  insights and leadership skills to a leading global insurance organisation.  You will play a key role in leading the People, Brand, and Reputation pillars of Market Management's strategic objectives with oversight of external and internal communications.

Leading a team of communication specialists, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, coaching, mentoring and developing a motivated and professional  communications team
  • Lead the development and execution of internal and external communications strategy, enhancing Allianz' brand with customers, stakeholders and employees
  • Act as trusted advisor to the Managing Director and Senior Management team and their direct reports, providing expert advice and guidance, including coaching on media management
  • Partner with the Group Manager, Intermediated Marketing to build and manage Allianz though leadership platform  and strategy, including overseeing the development and promotion of white papers and points of view on key  regulatory, policy, industry and community issues, as part of the brand and communications strategy
  • Act as corporate spokesperson on behalf of Allianz Australia
  • Lead a proactive media engagement and communications plan


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Solid experience in a leadership communications role in a large complex organisation
  • Strong understanding of corporate communications principles, including communications strategy, PR development, internal communications, engagement strategy and crisis management.
  • Superior stakeholder management with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Highly developed verbal and written  business communication skills
  • The ability to manage  multiple projects with high quality and superior customer service
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Corporate Affairs, Journalism or similar discipline essential
  • Insurance industry experience highly desirable though not essential
