Our Broker & Agency Distribution division works with a large network of brokers nationally. We deliver consistent, sustainable insurance risk and premium funding solutions for our broker partners and their clients

This rare opportunity to take up a key leadership role in our Adelaide Branch will be responsible for managing the SA underwriting operations, you will be an inspiring leader who is able to motivate and drive your team forward.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for Supervision and leadership of the Underwriting team to provide professional underwriting and services standards to internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement required operational action plans to deliver quality service standards, whilst always ensuring adherence to company risk, underwriting and compliance standards.
  • Develop and implement effective controls to ensure compliance obligations are met whilst having a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ensure a strong focus on renewal retention and an adaptable, responsive approach to new business.
  • Drive a strong partnership between the Underwriting and Account Management teams, to collaborate on achieving profitable growth targets.
  • Lead, coach and support Underwriting team to ensure the branch financial and non-financial targets are met.

Skills and Background:

Suitable candidate will ideally possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Tertiary Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of end to end processes used within underwriting from a General Insurance background
  • A knowledge in general underwriting is required with a solid background in two core products of ISR, Liability or Motor Fleet would be desirable
  • A solid history of people management
  • Clear and articulate communicator
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Good negotiation and resolution skills
